Good Parenting - It's Worth The Effort!

Hello!

I have started this blog so that I can share some of my parenting secrets to raising wonderful children! My husband and I are passionate about kids and in turn, have embarked on the journey of raising our own 3 (as of now) great kids.

Parenting is not easy, by any means, but it doesn't have to wear you down. I truly believe that it all starts in the beginning. It's a lot easier to establish rules and routines when the kids are little, as opposed to starting when they are old enough to realize something is changing.

Our kids are wonderful, and that's not just my biased opinion! We rarely go anywhere without someone telling us how beautiful, smart, or well-behaved our kids are...that's all the re-enforcement we need to know that we are doing this parenting-thing right!

We have never been afraid to go anywhere because we have kids...we take them out to eat (and have since they were babies), we have gone on vacations with them as newborns, we have taken them into church services and wedding ceremonies, as well as funerals that they have needed to be at.

There are so many kids out there that are punished or abused by their parents for acting out or mishbehaving, when in fact, it's the parents' fault the kids are acting this way. Kids need to be taught everything...you can't expect them to know how to act or behave. You have to teach them acceptable and unacceptable behaviors, just like you have to teach them how to walk and talk.

I will discuss our religious beliefs, our discipline techniques, and our overall philosophies regarding child-rearing. And hopefully you will be encouraged and helped by our suggestions!
